Stunningly beautiful – not only is this a magic location, the house is the perfect blend of beach house and luxury, modern yet unpretentious, and truly relaxing. Sitting above Staffa Bay, you are just a stone’s throw from Matapouri, Woolleys Bay and Whale Bay, three magnificent Tutukaka Coast beaches. No matter what the weather – glorious sunshine, stormy rain – the views are spectacular.
Like a good wine match, the house sits and fits into the environment seamlessly. Designed to capture the sun and views, the living area and bedrooms face north and open onto the front deck. The spacious master bedroom has a super king bed, large ensuite (relax in the bath while enjoying the view) and large picture window. Two more bedrooms open onto the deck – one has a queen bed and the other can be set up as two singles, or a super king bed. The garage studio with its own toilet opens onto a garden and more views! The open plan living area incorporates a very well equipped kitchen, dining area and lounge, with an open fire for the best in winter holidays. An additional outdoor area beyond the dining area is the perfect place to gather in the evening and relax around the outdoor fire.
The hardest decision you may have to make is which beach to go to today? Within a short drive is Sandy Bay (renowned surf beach), Woolleys Bay (great for boogie boarding, walking, swimming), Whale Bay (where bush meets the sand – an idyllic picnic spot),and Matapouri Bay (the jewel of Tutukaka Coast). Tutukaka (Toots) is the place to launch your boat, wander the shops and cafes, or catch a dive expedition to the Poor Knights Islands. Further on from Tutukaka is Ngunguru, a seaside village on the estuary with a well-stocked superette, hairdresser, beauty therapist and takeaways, golf course, sports complex, cafes.
This is a fantastic place to stay while you explore the paradise that is around you. Whether you decide to spend your days on the water, at the beach, or lie back and soak up the vista from your lounger on the deck, the choice is yours. A word of caution – you may never want to leave!
